There is mounting evidence we can reverse our biological age and beat our genetics. How to do that is exactly what Dr. Kara Fitzgerald explores in her new book, Younger You.

Biohacking, epigenetics, and their relation to longevity have become hot topics in the last few years. Fitzgerald provides a compelling case and a plan for adding quality years to our lives, going beyond genetics and into the active role we can play to improve how we age.

The biggest takeaway I got from Younger You is not about living an extra decade past our natural “expiration date,” but about how to prevent illnesses and diseases that destroy quality of life as we get older.

Fitzgerald has an extraordinary ability to unpack the complicated science and give readers accessible, actionable steps that can begin improving wellness and start reversing bio age. For those who enjoy the scientific details, Fitzgerald provides numerous resources. But for those of us who just want the action steps without knowing all the whys, she provides simpler instructions, like drinking green tea instead of black tea.

Younger You offers many strategies easy to incorporate into daily living. I love how Fitzgerald provides a blueprint to follow — including eating plans, lots of recipes, shopping lists, and lifestyle suggestions. She also explains how to tailor the program to individual preferences, life stages, and genes.

This new era of advancements in aging “backwards” is exciting (especially for those of us 50-plus). It’s never too late! I recommend this book as an effective way to start optimizing your quality of life right now.
