DARTable Staycation: Family Fun Destinations Across Dallas This Summer
Partner Content | DART
Summer is the perfect time of year for a family outing. Make DART a part of your family’s adventure and enjoy the great outdoors by taking the rail lines to these destinations for all ages. Your DARTable staycation awaits!
The Dallas World Aquarium may not be outdoors, but it feels like it, with a multilevel rainforest environment — home to exotic birds, animals, and plants. And, of course, there’s plenty of exotic sea life, swimming in 85,000 gallons of saltwater. A glass tunnel offers stunning views of the magnificent creatures. The aquarium is walkable from West End Station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines.

Experience a different kind of wildlife at the Dallas Zoo. Your family can feed giraffes, hop on a monorail offering a bird’s-eye view of the habitats, or visit the children’s zoo. Find that and much more mere steps from the Red Line‘s Dallas Zoo Station.

For an immersive nature experience, visit the Trinity River Audubon Center. You’ll discover the Great Trinity Forest at this peaceful sanctuary, which features trails, a children’s discovery garden, and educational exhibits. Take the Green Line to Lake June Station, then catch a GoLink directly to the nature center.
Just steps from Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Klyde Warren Park is one of Dallas’s most beloved green spaces — and it’s completely free. The park features food trucks, live music, lawn games, yoga classes, and a children’s park, making it perfect for the whole family. Take the Red Line or Orange Line to St. Paul Station or Pearl/Arts District Station and walk about 10 minutes.
These are only a few of your options for a DARTable day with the family. DART also provides easy access to the Perot Museum, the Interurban Railway Museum, and many other family-friendly destinations across Dallas this summer.
