A fun and flavorful snack to share

Looking for a colorful treat that’s tangy, sweet, and irresistibly crunchy? Made with JELL-O® as the not-so-secret ingredient, this popcorn is perfect for you and your kids and grandkids to make together for game days, birthday parties, or any fun-filled celebration!

Servings: 12  |  Prep Time: 10 minutes  |  Cook Time: 42 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

SAUCES

• 1 bag of buttered popcorn

• ½ cup butter (1 stick)

• ¼ cup light corn syrup

• ½ cup sugar

• 1 pkg. (3 oz.) Jell-O®, any flavor, or use a mix of flavors

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Pop the popcorn in the microwave following the directions on the package.
  • Transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl, being careful not to add unpopped kernels; set aside.
  • Melt the butter and corn syrup in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the sugar and Jell-O® ** Don’t stir the sugar as it cooks, or it may crystallize.
  • Bring the mixture to a full boil and cook for 4 minutes without stirring.
  • Pour the hot mixture over the popcorn and toss to evenly coat.
  • Spread the popcorn in a single layer on the sheet pan.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  • Remove the sheet pan from the oven and cool completely. (The candy coating will harden as it cools.)
