Jo Lam is the founder and CEO of Project Beauty. Originally born in Hong Kong, Jo came to the United States at the age of 12 years old as a first-generation immigrant. As a child, she had to learn English, and kids bullied her for looking and sounding different. At the age of 18 years old, Jo became involved in an abusive relationship that nearly killed her and left her physically disfigured. Jo is now on a mission to empower the women around her by using her experiences to encourage survivors.
