Kim Leeson has been a professional photographer for more than 25 years. After studying photography and journalism at East Texas University, she began working for The Dallas Morning News. During an 11-year stint in her dream job as a news photographer, she enjoyed covering breaking news and features. Her work for the newspaper earned her awards from the Texas Headliners Foundation, the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association,Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, and the Association for Women Journalists. Since leaving the Dallas Morning News in 2004, Kim has been freelancing in the Dallas area, mainly for magazines, public relations firms, educational institutions and nonprofits. Many also know Kim as an accomplished nature photographer whose passion is finding the extraordinary details of the natural world in urban environments.
